Mussie Eyob is a registered professional engineer with over 11 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and dam safety. He is currently a Civil Engineer for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Division of Dam Safety and Inspections in the New York Regional Office. He is responsible for conducting construction and operation inspection of non-federal hydropower dams, preparing and reviewing of dam safety engineering reports, and evaluating adequacy of design, constructability, and compliance with current engineering practices of existing dams. He began his engineering career as a structural engineer before transitioning to geotechnical engineering. Mussie received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
