Matthias is a geotechnical engineer with experience working on various dams and levee projects, performing seepage, slope stability, shallow and deep foundation, and retaining wall analyses. Matthias has experience preparing geotechnical reports and technical memorandums for dams, levees, and civil works structures. He is familiar with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s Section 408 program and has taken part in potential failure mode (PFM) workshops. Matthias has field experience in geotechnical subsurface explorations involving dams, levees, and water infrastructure.
Additionally, Matthias has construction infrastructure experience for a variety of structures in various geological regions in Germany. He has worked as a project manager on heavy-civil works and tunneling infrastructure projects. As an engineer, he also has numerical modelling experience with transient heat transfer problems that address artificial ground freezing problems.
