Brent Zundel is a registered professional engineer and certified floodplain manager and has been with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation since 2014. He supervises the Regional Engineering Services Section and is the regional engineer for seven public and private high-hazard dams and four DNRC State Water Projects-owned dams in southwestern Montana. He provides technical floodplain management assistance to communities across the state and reviews new or updated floodplain mapping projects. He served as the 2022 president of the Montana Section of the American Water Resources Association (AWRA). He has a BS in civil engineering and a BA in Spanish from Montana State University; following graduation, he received a Fulbright Research Grant to study water resources in south-central Chile.
