Delta Conveyance Executive Director
Tony Meyers currently holds two positions with the Department of Water Resource’s (DWR) State Water Project – the Chief Operating Officer as well as the Delta Conveyance Executive Director. Tony is a registered civil engineer in California and has held numerous positions in his 14 years of service with DWR. The State Water Project (SWP) supplies clean, affordable water to more than 27 million Californians and powers the state’s economy.
As the SWP Chief Operating Officer, Tony oversees the Divisions of Operations & Maintenance, Division of Engineering, Division of Integrated Science and Engineering, and the Delta Conveyance Office. He is also the SWP’s lead in the update of their Elevate to ’28 Five-Year Strategic Plan, establishing a new Strategic Risk Management Framework, and the One Blue Team leadership development program.
As the Executive Director of DWR’s Delta Conveyance Office, Tony leads a dedicated and talented group of engineers and environmental professionals working to modernize California’s water conveyance infrastructure to improve water supply resiliency in the nation’s largest state, and the 4th largest global economy.
Prior to these duties, Tony was the program and project manager for the Oroville Dam Spillway restoration in 2018 and the Thermalito Power Plant fire restoration from 2015-2017 where he planned, organized, and managed the activities and operations for these efforts, while representing DWR's interests with governmental agencies, utilities, State Water Contractors, and State Water Project stakeholders (federal and state) throughout California.
