Meghan Thiemann is a Civil Engineer for Special Projects in the Bureau of Reclamation Interior Region 8: Lower Colorado Basin’s Boulder Canyon Operations Office (BCOO). She has a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida, holds a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Environmental Engineering in the State of Nevada, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Before working for the Bureau of Reclamation, Meghan was an engineer for an environmental consulting firm in Savannah, Georgia (2015 – 2017) where she worked on environmental projects for industrial and municipal facilities.
In January 2018, Meghan started with the Bureau of Reclamation as a Civil Engineer for the Engineering Services Office (ESO). At ESO, she worked on a variety of water resources planning and hydrology studies and was the Lower Colorado Basin’s coordinator for the Title XVI Program, a Reclamation WaterSMART Program that funds water recycling and reuse projects.
In July 2021, Meghan transitioned to the River Operations Group in BCOO, as a Civil Engineer (Hydrologic) where she worked with a team of engineers and hydrologists on operational planning; daily and monthly water releases and power scheduling at Hoover, Davis, and Parker Dams; and hydrology modeling of the Colorado River system.
In August 2022 she was promoted to Civil Engineer for Special Projects in BCOO where she assists the Office Chief on the coordination of office program goals and projects and supports the office in matters associated with the Colorado River drought and reservoir conditions.
