Michael Anderson is the State Climatologist for California, a collaborative position between the State and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration to provide climate data services for California. He also manages the State’s Atmospheric River Research Program which investigates improvements to observations, forecasts, and their use to improve water management and response to drought and flood extremess in a changing climate. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. His Masters and PhD were accomplished at the University of California, Davis.
